Retaining Walls
Retaining wall construction has become one of the specialty landscape construction services that have become synonymous with the Pillari name. Pillari can help determine the best type of retaining wall system that will be most applicable for your site, based upon such parameters as; physical restrictions, soil composition, slopes, drainage, aesthetics, and economics.
Besides conventionally considered retaining wall systems such as cast in place concrete, Pillari has been installing segmental block retaining walls throughout the NJ, NY & CT tri-state area since 1987. Segmental Retaining Wall systems (SRW systems) gained popularity during the 1990’s and have been increasing in usage ever since. SRW systems are concrete blocks dry stacked with one of various type of connection system based upon block manufacturer that can be constructed as gravity walls up to an approximate height of 4’ tall. SRW systems can be constructed up to heights of 40-50’ tall by utilizing the installation of a polyester or high-density polyethylene reinforcement grid.
