Red Bank Residence I

This turn of the century home, sited on a narrow piece of land on the bluffs of the Navesink River in Red Bank, NJ, presented unique challenges. Beginning with the need to establish a sense of arrival since the rear and side of the residence were the first views one experienced upon arrival. Two masonry plinths and a brick sidewalk were introduced to accentuate the front door area. Riverfront views are enjoyed from the surrounding porch and seating platforms. Another design program challenge was to site a new detached architecturally consistent two car garage, while incorporating the existing circular driveway and porte-cochere entrance way.
